Laura San Giacomo (1962 - ) Actress Born: c.1962, New Jersey Education: Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh (acting) The stage-trained San Giacomo made an auspicious debut as the brassy, hedonistic Cynthia in Steven Soderbergh low-budget 1989 hit, SEXO, MENTIRAS Y VIDEO (1989). With the exception of her supporting role as Julia Roberts hooker friend in MUJER BONITA (1990), the majority of her subsequent performances have not showcased her special appeal. San Giacomo did register as a woman of mystery opposite Liam Neeson in BAJO SOSPECHA (1992), in the TV miniseries of Stephen King THE STAND (1994) and in NINA TAKES A LOVER (1994), an underappreciated small film in which she played a repressed woman who embarks on an affair. She also had her moments in the Al Franken vehicle LA CUÑADA (1995).
